London-based Australian post-punk outfit HighSchool have released their hazy new cut, ‘She Took You To Narnia’. The band have a gift for creating unique, emotionally charged soundscapes. This one swirls and twists in the distance, with vocals getting lost amongst a dark texture defined by melodic bass playing and hypnotic guitar chords. The band had one very specific piece of inspiration for the track: “A subtle influence for ‘She Took You To Narnia’ is ‘Mirror’s Image’ by The Horrors. We especially love the way it turns from being a four-to-the-floor electronic track to a more guitar-based band sound in the opening minute. We attempted to replicate this in our own way here.” The duo are releasing their second EP, Accelerator, on April 19th, 2024. -Dan Peeke
